Alena has over 30 years experience of working within healthcare and business. A nursing background with an MBA and LLM has ensured she remains passionate about providing excellent clinically led safe services for patients and DLP stakeholders which adhere to regulatory and statutory requirements. She previously worked as an investigator for the parliamentary and healthcare ombudsman which gave her experience of working and representing a statutory body. She was the COO for TAC Healthcare for 8 years before setting up her own company. Alena undertakes the contract management and writes the tenders and bids for DLP with the clinical teams.
After training in Edinburgh, Hong Kong, and Aberdeen, Ken served as a consultant surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for 24 years, where he founded the upper gastrointestinal surgery department, led day case surgery, chaired general surgeons, and was clinical lead for surgery. He also acted as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and globally. In 2001, he became the inaugural King James IV Professor of Surgery. With a strong interest in endoscopy, Ken contributed to pioneering techniques at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and introduced innovations to the UK. He retired from the NHS in 2015 to establish the Aberdeen Clinic, which became TAC Healthcare in 2019. As medical director, he managed general surgery contracts across multiple regions and 23 endoscopy units.
Ruth qualified as an RGN in 1994 and specialised in theatre work. She has 38 Years’ experience as a Theatre Nurse, Surgical First Assistant and Member of AFPP. My surgical experience includes SFA and scrub in Orthopaedic, Daycase, General, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology and Plastics. Ruth is experienced in Business development and advising on the implementation of national standards, competencies and protocols. She has developed the knowledge and skills required to introduce new contract services and process improvement and to recruit, manage, provide governance, lead and motivate and oversee staff. As part of service delivery, Ruth will audit contract standards, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented in practice.
Matthew has been our lead ODP since conception of the business in 2022. With 30 years clinical and managerial experience in the NHS and private healthcare and corporate settings, his calm, well organised and patient focused attitudes support and leads the theatre and endoscopy teams ensuring a high standard of safe practice and effective patient care. Matthew is the Lead SurgEase practitioner for DLP healthcare, working alongside and mentored by Ken Park on the various pilot schemes including Peterborough. Matthew has worked on a number of insourcing contracts and is a strong believer in providing patient care which is clinically focused and led.
Sarah graduated from Heriot-Watt University with a degree in Fashion Marketing and Retailing BA (Hons). Since then, she has transitioned into an integral role at DLP Healthcare, where she has spent the past year working in both operations and marketing. Sarah's unique background in fashion marketing brings a fresh perspective to DLP, helping to streamline operations and enhance the company's marketing efforts. In addition, Sarah has gained valuable experience by developing websites on a consultancy basis, tailoring digital platforms to meet the needs of various DLP clients. She has also played a key role in managing social media platforms for multiple companies, helping to elevate their online presence and engage with broader audiences.
